Nicki Minaj has gone from much talked about Grammy performance to what will be a much talked about magazine cover. Nicki is posing in "Smurf" blue body paint on the new issue of Vogue magazine.
Look, Katy Perry has been running around in blue hair lately, so perhaps Vogue and Nicki Minaj both thought that blue was the "in color" these days. So, here is Nicki made-up to look like a cross between a Smurf and something out of the movie Avatar.
Steven Klein, who did the photography here, was keen on putting Nicki and her larger personality in a pink wig and blue body paint. Clearly Minaj had no issues with pushing the limits of the shoot. Of course, this was not always the case with Nicki. Minaj admits that she wasn't always trying for "over-the-top" looks:
I met a person who dressed like a tiny lady - pantsuits, heels, lots of makeup. I thought she was larger than life. She once did my makeup - I had never seen myself made up before. I didn't want to wash it off; I felt like I had one day to live this fantasy of being a glamour girl.
Glamour girl is debatable (that's another magazine), but Vogue girl? She's on the March 2012 cover isn't she?
