Almost the entire cast of both Teen Mom installments hit up New York City this weekend to tape reunion specials. Many people wondered whether or not Amber Portwood, who was recently released from jail and put on house arrest at her grandparents, would be there. Early on Friday, it was revealed that the troubled reality star would not be there, but it was unclear exactly why, until now.
E! News talked to Amber's mother, and it appears that Amber tried to get permission to attend the taping but was denied. According to her mother, Tonya, the judge "thinks it will interfere with her program."
So, what does the Teen Mom think about the news? She said, "I'm happy...just stressed, but I'm happy."
Amber was supposed to be living in a halfway house, but was denied entry to the program. As a result, she was released to her grandparents, where she had thought she would be the whole time. As she just learned, though, she is under some strict rules. However, it has to be better than jail!
Amber's ex-boyfriend (and father of her daughter, Leah), Gary Shirley, will be in New York City to tape the reunion, and he took Leah with him! Even though fans won't have the opportunity to see Amber on the show, at least that will get an update on her daughter.
What are your thoughts on Amber Portwood and the whole Teen Mom reunion? Will you be watching when it airs?
