Victoria Justice plays the role of a man in Sunday night's episode of Victorious. In fact, she plays another character's husband. Does Nickelodeon have the young actress cross-dressing? Actually, they do—but it's not what you might be thinking.
According to a report from Just Jared, Justice's character on Victorious—Tori—plays the part of a man in a play she and co-star Elizabeth Gillies are forced to perform in together.
On the show
, Justice and Gillies' characters don't get along. By playing the husband and wife role they've been cast in, they learn that their differences aren't as vast as they'd previously imagined. There is always a moral to a Victorious story line.
Victoria Justice is a very versatile young actress so she probably pulls off playing a man with ease. Since the episode features the role as part of a teen production, it will no down show both Justice and Gillies exuding some silliness and lots of teenage humor.
Are you relieved to know that Nickelodeon isn't promoting cross dressing or do you wish the network would be a bit more liberal in its gender profiling? Aren't there lots of lessons that could be learned by them doing so—for example tolerance and acceptance? After all, Victorious features morals to all of their stories. Or is it simply too much for the network to take on?
