Is Kim Kardashian Adopting a Baby?!

Back around the holidays, a report surfaced claiming that Kim Kardashian was upset that her image had taken a major hit following her quickie divorce filing, so she was actually considering adopting a Haitian baby as a PR fix. And now a new report is claiming the 31-year-old is about to become a mom!

According to OK!, Kim "has begun the process of adopting a baby as a single mother." OK! claims that, ironically, Kim's split from hubby of 72 days Kris Humphries is what "cemented" her plans to adopt as a single mom, because she has been spending more time with her mother and sisters.

"Kim has always been very maternal," an "insider" dishes to the mag. "Of the three sisters, she's the one who's been saying that she's ready for kids the longest."

Well, Kim has always whined about how she just wants to get married and be a wife, too, and everyone knows how that turned out. And Kim's so "maternal" that she reportedly only holds nephew Mason for photo ops and then ignores him when there aren't cameras around, so that doesn't bode well for when she has her own kids.

But apparently, now that big sister Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant with her second child -- a girl, which reportedly has Kim green with envy -- Kim has decided to fast-track the adoption in a "shocking $1 million deal."

"It's all top secret, but the adoption is already underway," a "source" tells OK! "Kim is ready. She's made inquiries and gotten information. Now she just has to decide where she wants the baby to come from [writer's note: Does Kim know enough about geography to figure that part out?]."

At least one Kardashian thinks this is a really bad idea, though: According to OK!, one of her sisters "insists Kim's not ready to be a mom." There's a good chance the voice of reason is Khloe Kardashian, who's definitely the smartest and most grounded of the bunch -- and who would probably be pissed if Kim, with her sex tape, two divorces and general selfishness, is able to buy a baby while she and Lamar Odom struggle to have one of their own.

Although Kim probably does see a child as a PR fix for her tarnished image, what are the chances that she would actually go through with an adoption? Would it be like her marriage, where a few short weeks later she was moaning that it was a giant mistake? Would she try to give the baby back? Kim really doesn't think about anyone but herself, and that's a problem when you have a kid. Of course, nannies will probably be raising her children anyway, so at least they might have a shot at turning out normal.
