Singer Britney Spears was offered a hefty $10 million contract to serve as a mentor on the upcoming season of X Factor but she turned it down instead. Is she holding out for more money or is she simply not interested in taking the position at all?
According to a report from Celebuzz, it is reported that Britney and her reps have made a counter offer of a cool $20 million instead. If that doesn't pan out she's planning to look into doing a singing residency in Las Vegas instead.

This season's première is fast approaching. Presently set for May 14th, this turn of events could find producers doing a mad dash to find a different mentor who would step in if they decide not to pay Britney Spears what she has counter offered. They are already scrambling around for a new judge to join the panel that thus far includes Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

Do you have any suggestions for whom else X Factor should try to lure as a mentor instead? Who might fill the spot at the judge's table?
