Jennifer Love Hewitt, who plays a high-end call girl on the TV series The Client List, has found another way to get paid for meeting men in real life. She has signed on as the new spokesperson for online dating site eHarmony, and the company is determined to prove its commitment to finding singles long-lasting love with Hewitt as an example. The question is: Can their patented computer match-up system really find a match for her.
Hewitt could certainly use a little help with her love life. She recently told Maxim magazine that she never gets asked out. Also, her prior relationships haven't worked out all that well. She's dated several prominent celebrities, such as Carson Daly, John Mayer and Jamie Kennedy, and she only came close to hearing wedding bells once. She was engaged for nearly a year to Scottish actor Russ McCall, whom she met on the set of The Ghost Whisperer, but the relationship flopped before they could tie the knot.
So, is eHarmony coming to Jennifer Love Hewitt's love life rescue? The company is giving it a whirl, but its chances of success are dubious. They've already flown a potential partner to Los Angeles for a date, yet the sparks just weren't there. According to a source, she "was bored, disinterested and just doing it for the money." Whatever her motivations for linking up with the dating site, eHarmony didn't quite get it right on the first stab. If the company is truly determined, however, this one flop won't deter them in their quest to find Hewitt love.
