DWTS returns to primetime Monday night with the premiere episode of the hit reality show's 14th season of celebrity/professional dance hijinks. As an added bonus, longtime pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy resumed his TV Guide blog today, sharing his thoughts about the competition and his newest partner, Little House on the Prairie actress and former SAG president Melissa Gilbert.
The always-candid Chmerkovskiy, who drew fierce criticism for his aggressive defense of Dancing with the Stars season 13 partner Hope Solo, had only good things to say about his new other half, although he's never seen the show that made her famous. He called Gilbert "amazing" and claimed that she's easy to work with because they're "on the same page" with respect to communication.
He cautioned fans against labels, noting that although TV personality Maria Menounos --who is partnered by three-time DWTS champ Derek Hough-- may be regarded as "the sexy one," he considers himself and Gilbert sexy in their own way as well.
