Over the weekend, the Kim Kardashian flour bombing incident was big news. Although the shock factor has worn off, it looks like the incident may have some unanticipated repercussions.
Although PETA has claimed that they were not directly involved with the incident, Khloe Kardashian recently learned that the person responsible for the flour bomb had close ties to the animal rights group. As a result, she made the decision to stop supporting the group (but not the cause.)
After making her statement, a representative for PETA spoke out to The Hollywood Reporter saying:
"We appreciate that Khloe will remain on the animals' side by not wearing fur—that's what counts. If one of our volunteers is responsible, it doesn't alter the fact that no animal deserves to be electrocuted, shot, or poisoned for a bit of fur clothing. Khloe is just defending her sister, and we know she has a good heart, so we wish her well. We just wish she also had more influence on her sister."
Although PETA does not take responsibility for the incident, they have been a part of some crazy stunts in the past in an attempt to bring attention to animal cruelty. The group is not shy about using controversial campaigns either. Although they are losing Khloe Kardashian as a supporter, there are still other celebrities who support the group.
Of course, it is great that PETA understands where Khloe is coming from in making her decision. As long as Khloe still supports animal rights though, that is what matters the most.
What do you think about Khloe Kardashian's decision to end her support with PETA?
