Piers Morgan seems to know that all good celebrity feuds take place on Twitter. The CNN talk show host didn't disappoint when Madonna joined Twitter earlier this week. Morgan welcomed the pop star to the social networking site by banning her from his American and U.K. talk shows.
According to TMZ, when Madonna joined Twitter, Morgan sent her a message saying, "You're still banned from my show. Love Piers X." That must have been confusing for Madonna and her manager Guy Oseary, who countered by producing an invitation from Morgan's U.K. show. Morgan quickly rescinded the invitation and also banned her from that show. It's doubtful Madonna is losing any sleep over the "feud." Her career and image will last long after Morgan's show is cancelled, which may be sooner than later based on the ratings.
Morgan has called Madonna "an irritant in my life for 20 years", but he didn't elaborate on what he has against Madonna. It's no secret that the ratings for "Piers Morgan Tonight" have tanked since taking over for iconic talk show host Larry King. If Morgan is going to make a public statement like that, viewers may assume that this is just a sad attempt at publicity. Who wants to put their trust in a newsman who makes petty remarks on Twitter?
