Now that Camille Grammer's departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been made official, she is speaking openly about her time on the show and about her divorce from Kelsey Grammer. She sat down with Katie Couric this morning on Good Morning America and she had a 'thank you' to extend to her ex-husband. "Since my ex [Kelsey] said it was a gift [the reality show destroying their marriage]," she tells Katie, "You know ... yes, thank you Kelsey for the gift of humiliation for the first season." In a one-on-one interview, Kelsey admitted that it was Camille's time to shine, but what no one knew at the time was that Kelsey was indeed cheating on her.
"Well the first season was horrible because they were filming during the worst year of my whole life," she explains of the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. "My whole life was falling apart. My husband left me, he was having an affair with a woman in New York City, while I was filming and it couldn't get worse than that." Camille Grammer does come off as rather arrogant during the first couple of episodes of the first season, but her demeanor does change when she discovers the affair and Kelsey ending their marriage.
However, Camille faded a bit on the second season and took a backseat to Taylor's abusive behavior and it seems producers noticed her fading away. And after she refused to share her children and her new boyfriend with the cameras, they decided to cut her out of the show. "I said [I didn't want to film] my children and my relationship because I believe certain things should remain private and sacred," she says. "From that they [producers] came back with an offer. But it was not one that I was comfortable with after being on the show for two years as a main housewife."
Well, at least Camille can thank Kelsey for divorcing her so she could start dating that hot young Greek lover.
