Carrie Underwood has excelled in the music biz since her American Idol win seven years ago, but she isn't good at everything. In an interview for the May issue of SELF, the singer revealed she can't cook—meat, that is.
Underwood ascribes to a vegan diet, claiming it helps her look and feel more healthy, but her husband, hockey star Mike Fisher, still likes his meat. So, how does the couple handle the herbivore/omnivore clash at home? Underwood says, "I don't know what to do with meat, so if Mike wants it to taste good and doesn't want to end up in the hospital with food poisoning, it's best if he makes it himself."
Although Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher seem to have a good solution with cooking separately, something else she mentioned in her interview hints that she may not be so hot in the kitchen period: "My husband would rather go out to restaurants than eat at home—it makes me mad!"
It is doubtful, however, that the level of Underwood's culinary expertise will threaten the couple's relationship. The singer brags on their exceptional marriage, "I have my best friend around me all the time. Everybody's like, 'The first year is the hardest' - and I'm like, 'That's it? That was the hardest? Come on, you can do better than that!' It's great; he's wonderful."
