Adele has been the object of an unlikely source's affection, an individual who met with criticism after calling the singer "a little too fat" in February. Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel showered the singer with designer handbags in an effort to make up for his foot-in-mouth moment. According to a source for MSN, "He told his team to send Adele the best the fashion house have to offer after hearing she collected bags. He's annoyed with himself because he ended up insulting her when he meant to compliment her. He thinks she's beautiful and calls her divine." Lagerfeld certainly has a unique method for trying to soften the singer's heart and is pulling out all the stops.
What's more surprising than Lagerfeld's gift-giving mission, however, is his desire to help the plump singer cross over into modeling. For the past year, a much thinner model has been the face pedaling Chanel's Mademoiselle handbags. If Lagerfeld has his way and wins the singer over, the hit singer could very well replace Blake Lively, according to MSN's source. "He said he really wanted to make it up to her so they could maybe work together in the future. He could see her fronting a campaign for Chanel Mademoiselle bags when the contract with Blake Lively ends."
Does Blake Lively even know that her contract may not be renewed? If the musician ends up accepting this opportunity from Chanel, could it be the beginning of handbag wars between the singer and the actress?
