Adam Lambert's fans have held out hope that despite the cancellation of the Sonisphere Festival this summer, he would still perform with Queen soon. It seems that this might happen! According to a report from Detroit's classic rock station 94.7 WCSX, Queen drummer Roger Taylor has told The Insider that he and guitarist Brian May are planning to play four shows with Adam Lambert this summer. They include the previously scheduled June 30 concert in Moscow, another with Elton John in Kiev and two early July shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in England.
If this is true, this is great news for the many Adam Lambert fans all over the world that already made travel plans to be in the UK in the beginning of July to see Adam perform with Queen. Also according to the report, "Taylor says he and May have also been approached to be part of the Summer Olympics closing ceremonies in London." There have been rumors about this for months, however, everyone has been very tight-lipped about it.
When the cancellation of the Sonisphere concert was first announced, Adam stated that he was disappointed and hoped that he would share a stage with Queen again in the future. He was very evasive when fans asked if the Moscow concert was still on. He hinted that it was canceled, however, the concert promoter insisted that the concert would continue as planned. This report from 94.7 WCSX provides further evidence that the Moscow show is indeed still going to happen.
Hopefully Queen will make an announcement soon, confirming these concerts. For those that have already put out money to travel to Moscow and the UK to see Adam perform with Queen, this is great news.
If these concerts do happen, will you make plans to attend?
