On April 18, the Boyfriend singer visited a Ducati motorcycle dealership in West Hollywood, California. He was accompanied by a single bodyguard. From the moment Biebs hit the sidewalk, the paps were all over him like white on rice. Although, in all fairness, the snap-happy paps kept what looked like a reasonable distance from their target, and their behavior seemed polite and respectful. One of them even asked Justin if he'd bought a bike. JB's reply, if he made one, was inaudible. Actually he seemed really annoyed by the photogs--perhaps even more so than usual. As you can see on the video below, when they emerged from their "hiding place" behind a tree, he immediately pulled his cap down to hide his face. As if that could actually make him unrecognizable. Seriously, Biebs. Anyway, the bodyguard shooed them away--or tried to. They kept retreating and returning. Justin got into his cute little black smart car, followed by the bodyguard--all without mishap. And then it happened. As Justin Bieber pulled out and started down the street, a photog dressed in black tried to get a good shot of the Teen Dream behind the wheel by standing in front of the car. It was not a good idea. Justin kept driving, and the paparazzo had to dart to the left to avoid being run down. JB and the bodyguard kept going.
So, there you have it. Was Justin Bieber's near miss of the pap just one more bizarre incident in a bizarre week? Or should the paps have better sense than to stand in the middle of the street trying to get their money shots? Or should celebrities in general realize that being photographed is part of the job?
What do you think?
