Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend, Casper Smart, isn't the only who has eyes on the Latin songstress. Smart's family is reportedly pushing him into a marriage with J.Lo for all the wrong reasons. And, just what would those reasons be? Why, money, of course.
Everyone knows Lopez is financially set. After years of hard work, the entertainer has amassed an enviable bank account. When it comes to money, J.Lo has the means to have her cake and eat it too, many times over. So it's not too far-fetched to imagine people wanting a slice of that cake. Shockingly, she's even been nicknamed the Smart "family lottery."
An insider said, "Some people in [Casper's] family are dirt poor and feel like they're being ignored. J.Lo has made sure that when she and Casper have been on trips together, most recently to Acapulco, he's brought back presents for his mom, his twin sisters, some cousins and a few other people.The people who have been left out are jealous, and it's created a big family feud. They want him to propose before she changes her mind."
That proposal might be right around the corner. Smart is planning to ask for Lopez's hand in marriage with his grandmother's gold engagement ring. The insider added that Smart is now "head over heels in love" with J.Lo and that his grandmother "passed away about 12 years ago and her ring has tremendous sentimental value to Casper. He believes that Jennifer will be touched by it, even though he doesn't have the type of money that Marc Anthony had to impress her with expensive jewelry... Casper is trying to keep momentum in the relationship going and is hinting at throwing her a private party in August. Of course, his family members all want their invites!"
Things are going to get really icky for Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart if this story has a ring of truth to it. Hopefully, there are no piranhas in Smart's family. Unfortunately, that's probably not the case.
