Lindsay Lohan's set to play Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime film, Liz and Dick but the fiery redhead doesn't have a leading man. According to producers, they're having a difficult time finding someone who can pull off Richard Burton and emote chemistry with Lindsay too.
Of course, some people wonder how many men want to step up to act opposite the troubled young actress. Some are no doubt especially cautious given the bad reviews she received from her last acting gig on Glee. Reports show she showed up late for the second day and came unprepared. She hadn't memorized her lines. That's not something a respectable, hard-working actor wants to deal with.
However, the powers-that-be at Lifetime insist the holdup isn't Lohan's fault. They say they just haven't found the perfect combination as of yet. But then, they aren't saying which actors they've auditioned so far.
Producer Larry Thompson claims "it's a double whammy casting challenge". Some actors don't have chemistry with Lindsay while others just aren't Burton material. Whoever's chosen must have both. So far, no one's withstood that test.
Lifetime better get cracking though. The movie's set to start filming on June 4th. That gives them little over a month to find their man, seal the deal and get him ready to face trouble; Lindsay that is. Otherwise if will be Liz without Dick and that just won't work.
Of course, few people are expecting this movie to work anyway. They think casting Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor was a colossal mistake. Can she prove them wrong if she gets the right leading man? Everyone will have to wait until the film hits the airwaves to find out.
