Kate Middleton and her royal husband just celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday. Did they party in some fancy castle? Not at all! In spite of rumors about the various places they might spend the special day—and night—the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went home to their cozy little cottage in Wales, reports Hollywood Life. They probably went for a walk with Lupo, on a cold, rocky beach. Most important, they celebrated in "typical William and Kate style," a source shares. That cottage is where they feel happiest, all the sources agree. A date spent at home is their favorite.
Not everything was low-key. Prince
William reportedly gave his wife, the former Kate Middleton, a piece of "exquisite jewelry", say the reports, but it has not been pictured yet. She seems to favor earrings, but bracelets are hot right now. Royal men always seem to go for jewels. Not much imagination, but they certainly have lasting value.
The royal bride, on her last day of being a newly wed, headed for the little Welsh kitchen, where she baked a fish in parchment. Apparently Kate Middleton was following first wedding anniversary tradition, there. No word on what kind of fish. Did she buy it herself at the market? Maybe they caught it together. But no doubt recipes for fish baked in parchment will soon be appearing all over.
Royal-watchers everywhere wish the Duke and Duchess a happy anniversary, and a life-long marriage that goes as smoothly as this year has gone.
