Both Selena Gomez and her boyfriend Justin Bieber are big on giving back--especially when it comes to helping out children's causes. Selena did just that for a Houston, Texas 7-year-old name Ella recently when she helped make her Make-A-Wish dream come true.
According to a report from the Sun Herald, Ella has fought Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for two years now. After receiving a CD featuring Selena and her band The Sce
ne for her birthday, it was clear that meeting Selena went straight to the top of her list.
Little Ella was treated to a fun afternoon in L.A., playing with Selena, taking photos and often just chatting. She decided that her afternoon with the "Love You Like A Love Song" singer was the 'best day of her life.'
"Ella and her family enjoyed every minute of her afternoon play date with Selena Gomez," David Williams, the Make-A-Wish America president and chief executive officer said following the visit. "I speak for Ella, her family and Make-A-Wish when I express my gratitude to Selena for taking the time out of her busy schedule to grant the wish of such a special and full of life little girl."
Ella's father Chris was quite taken with Selena as well.
"When you're a parent and you have a child who has cancer, it just feels like the meanness of the world is coming down and slapping you in the face," he said. "When the folks from Make-A-Wish told us that she would be able to have a wish, it just felt like the whole world was righting some sort of wrong."
Don't you love that Selena Gomez is such a giving person? Both she and Justin Bieber could spend their time indulging in themselves, but instead realize how blessed they both are, and choose to give back instead. What a fine example this sets for other young people--maybe even some young celebrities, too.
