Judge Cee Lo Green says he's not planning on leaving The Voice unless he's forced out, at least for now. He contends that as long as the singing competition remains "fresh", he's in it for the long haul. He considers it his day job.
Green admits that NBC probably has contingency plans in place for the show's judges. There could come a time when they opt for a change. Until then, though, he's happy to stay put. "I would like to think we were irreplaceable," he admitted and to fans of the show that may seem true.
Green, along with Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera started with the singing competition last year. They're just about to complete their second successful season. He thinks they'll be many more.
"But the truth of the matter is we're still working-class artists and artists can be very fickle," he noted. He contends there could be a time when where he's going doesn't meet with NBC's plans for the show. For now, however, he likes where he's at and he doesn't plan on leaving. "I would like to be here as long as it's...exciting and fun for me," claims Cee Lo Green.
Hopefully, NBC is smart enough to stick with one of the few gold mines it has left on the network. Making a change now could prove catastrophic. Why fix what clearly isn't broken? As for the future, those things have a way of working themselves out. If one of The Voice judges ever opts to leave, hopefully they'll have a better time filling the seat than rival competitor X Factor. That's been a mess. However, American Idol came up with dynamite replacements when their time came. That proves it's doable.
