Lindsay Lohan's casting as Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's Liz and Dick has raised a lot of eyebrows, but no one is more skeptical than Taylor's sons, Michael and Chris Wilding. Lohan certainly isn't doing anything with her late night antics and poor professionalism as of late to assuage their fears.
Michael and Chris know their mother was a legend. Although Liz Taylor had her problems with alcoholism and men, she remained the epitome of class and virtually oozed with acting talent. They just can't see how Lohan could possibly do their mother justice in the role.
According to a family friend, "Liz's sons, Michael and Chris Wilding, feel there are many other actresses who are far more qualified to play their famous mother . . . Liz's children feel their mom deserved better!"
Elizabeth Taylor's sons aren't the only ones shocked by Lifetime's decision to cast Lindsay Lohan in the role. Rosie O'Donnell recently dissed Lohan's ability to portray the iconic Taylor, pointing out how little acting experience the celebrity party animal really has. "The last thing she did good, she was 16," said O'Donnell.
Although Liz and Dick is only a small television production, Lindsay playing Liz has sparked a lot of interest, if only to see if Lohan flops as badly as she did hosting Saturday Night Live. No matter how well Lindsay performs, it cannot take away what Elizabeth Taylor achieved.
