Kate Middleton's about to play a big role in a decision that's been put on Prince William's plate. The RAF chain of command gives William until the end of the year to decide between flying with the RAF, transferring to another branch of the military, or leaving the military behind and attend to his ever-growing royal duties. A spokesperson for the Prince said that this is a decision that Kate will weigh in on heavily.
Kate and William love their home in Anglesey, which is close to the base William works out of. It is a place that allows them peace, tranquility and provides the closest lifestyle to normalcy that the royals will ever get. William loves his work with the RAF, although it's considered a very dangerous job going out on search and rescue missions. This is especially the case because many of the missions call for flying in bad weather when rescuing people stranded at sea.
The ever-growing calendar of royal events that Kate and William find themselves scheduled to attend are taking up time. Apparently William doesn't have enough time to do both efficiently, especially with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee events coming up and the events that entails his presence. It's time for Kate and William to pick the direction they'll be taking in life, which is a very big decision, according to Mail Online.
Kate has often said that she worries, and rightfully so, when her husband is out on these search and rescue missions. Just like other military wives, Kate will always wonder if her husband will make it home at the end of the day when flying these missions in turbulent weather.
While Kate will probably be relieved if William decides to leave his flying with the RAF behind, she most likely won't base her part of the decision-making process on this. She's not selfish and chances are the decision will ultimately boil down to what will make her husband happy first.
The royal couple's new home will be ready in London next year, a place where they're expected to spend a good deal of time while fulfilling their royal duties. Another big factor they'll consider in their decision is what's best for a family as both William and Kate have expressed eagerness to have children.
This will probably come as the biggest decision that William and Kate will make so far in life because it decides their future direction. William's at a crossroads in his life where each path will lead him in very different directions. Kate's input will weigh heavily on his decision, so it's a lot for her to take on as well. Two other people who will also add to William's decision is his grandmother and his father.
He's expected to discuss this over with these two elders of his family as they're the best source for pointing out what Kate and William's duties will look like in the next few years. Both the Queen and Prince Charles are extremely proud of William's place in the RAF and all that he's achieved. This being said, they too will most likely air on the side of William's happiness when it comes time for their input regarding William's decision.
Kate and William have the rest of the year to make this decision, but again, when it boils down to it, the decision will ultimately stand with William. After Kate weighs in and he takes into consideration what his grandmother and father have to say, William will make one of the biggest moves in his life so far. He will either move on with the military or pour himself into royal life with charity work and public engagements.
