Justin Bieber Chasing Michael Jackson by Changing His Name? (Video)

Justin Bieber has often said that his idol was Michael Jackson. And of course everyone remembers MJ's famous pet, Bubbles the Chimp. In a recent interview, the Teen Dream dished on someone else named Bubbles. Someone quite close to JB. Someone the Boyfriend singer calls Bubbles Bieber. Yikes. Does JB have a pet chimpanzee? And if so, how has he managed to keep his pet a secret. After all, Justin informed the world about his pet baby boa constrictor—the erotically named "Johnson" almost immediately after adopting the little reptile. So who, or what is Bubbles Bieber?

In a recent interview, Justin was asked a rather odd question by a special "guest interviewer" who just happened to be his friend and protégée, Carly Rae Jepsen.

"If you weren't named Justin Bieber," asked Carly Rae, "what would you name yourself?"

O.K. Weird, but at least it's different. Interestingly, Justin replied without missing a beat: "I would name myself Bubbles. Bubbles Bieber."

When the other interviewer asked him why, he replied: "I don't know. Why not? I'm Bubbles Bieber." And he then proceeded to lapse into a bizarre impersonation of what he would sound like if his name was Bubbles instead of Justin.

"This is the Bubbles voice," he recited in a robotic monotone. "Hi, I'm Bubbles Bieber."

The interviewer looked stunned, but she recovered quickly. As she laughingly shook "Bubbles Bieber's" hand, she was probably thinking that if this were any teen celebrity other than Justin A.K.A. "Bubbles" Bieber, she'd think he was high.

So, there you have it. The mystery of Bubbles Bieber solved. Bubbles may even turn up again somewhere. Or perhaps he'll become a trending topic on Twitter.
