Linda Evangelista recently opened one of the single most expensive child support suits in history, asking for a shocking $46,000 a month in support from former beau and billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, the father of her five-year-old son, Augie. But, in a surprising turn of events, Evangelista chose to settle the support case Monday as she prepared for her second day of the trial. The case grew heated on its opening day, with Evangelista's lawyer stating that Pinault had "suggested she terminate the pregnancy."
Though the exact terms of the deal remain unknown (thus far, at least), David Aronson, attorney for Pinault, stated, "Everybody's glad for the sake and the benefit of the child that it's done."
With a positive outlook from Aronson at the conclusion of the ill-tempered case, it seems likely that Pinault will be paying out significantly less than what was being asked of him, though he could still take quite the pay hit. Then again, when you're a billionaire married to Salma Hayek, you surely have enough good fortune to spare!
What do you think of the amount of child support Linda Evangelista was asking for? Do you think Pinault should have been ordered to pay the $46,000 a month, or a reduced sum?
