Kate Middleton and Prince William are just like so many other couples today. They met in college, dated for years and then broke up. Everybody is aware of the great breakup of 2007, but many may not realize, that particular separation was just one of many. Kate had a very difficult time getting that ring on her finger. She is a determined woman and somehow managed to tame the Prince and future King of England.
A new book about William's life delves into the relationship between the now married couple. "They'd been together since the age of 20 and Kate had always wanted rather more commitment than he was prepared to give," author Penny Junor explains. Will's "claustrophobia" was not the only problem. Apparently, not all of his buddies liked the serious and sensible Kate and did their best to remind Will of what he was missing. Will's partying and neglect of Kate ultimately led to lots of fighting. Catherine did not approve of the wild antics of the young men.
During one of their most documented breakups, Kate, with a little help from her little sister, Pippa Middleton, showed Will just what he was missing. Sitting around and eating pints of ice cream and looking at old photos gets you nowhere. Kate set out to prove to Will and his partying pals she could let her hair down and have fun too.
According to insiders, "He realized he couldn't bear the thought of her with another man." Sounds like a case of he didn't want her, but didn't want anybody else to have her. Clearly, he recognized his folly, pulled on his big boy pants and decided a committed relationship was not so bad. Kate Middleton obviously knew of William's jealous tendencies and capitalized on them. A girl has got to do what a girl has got to do to snare her man. Will does not seem miserable by any means.
