Tamra Barney supported her friend Vicki Gunvalson in her announcement that her daughter Briana had eloped with her boyfriend of a short time, Ryan Culberson. Ryan had been serving in Afghanistan for a while, where he and Briana had been writing letters to one another. In addition, Briana's recent cancer scare was enough for these two to tie the knot and live in the now. But Vicki didn't quite see the news as festive. In fact, she just wanted to plan her daughter's wedding and be part of the fun.
Well, since the filming happened months ago, Vicki has changed her mind about her daughter's sudden desire to marry. She knew that if she didn't that Briana would just do what pleased her and ignore her mother. Well, Tamra Barney is pleased that her friend could change her mind to be there for her daughter. "I know she was upset about Briana suddenly eloping, as any mother would be. But she is right to support her daughter in her decision," Tamra explains in her blog.
Vicki has to remember two things. Briana is a grown woman; she can do as she pleases. It's not like she is getting married and knocked up at the age of 16. Second, Briana probably had some hostility against her mother because she decided to move on from Donn to Brooks rather soon after filing for divorce. Since Vicki had been dating Brooks for months without introducing him to Briana, she probably thought she could pull a similar move with Ryan. Think about it—Briana doesn't want to be seen as her daughter, but rather as an adult.
