Amber Portwood is back in jail after reportedly violating her probation by not showing up to a scheduled drug assessment by the court. Portwood insists that she only missed the appointment because she was under doctor's orders to stay in bed after having gallbladder surgery days before.
"She had surgery, and basically she was on bed rest for a couple of days," Amber's mother told Radar Online. "They got it wrong. She shouldn't be where she's at right now." Portwood's brother also took to his Facebook page to tell fans, "Don't flip your lid! I'm pretty positive she will be out next week."
Her family is pretty positive considering that the judge was very adamant on having her meet all requirements and if she did not, she would have to serve the 5-year suspended sentence he gave her. Talk about pushing your luck!
Also, TMZ reports that Amber Portwood's case manager contacted her doctor to verify that she was too ill, and he denied it saying she was well enough to attend, which won't sit well with the judge when she goes up for her case review.
After spending nearly two months in jail, including Christmas and New Year's of last year, one would hope that Portwood would be grateful for her freedom. At that time, the judge had wanted her to live in a halfway house but gave her a break when he offered her house arrest.
