Kate Gosselin and her brood celebrated the 8th birthday of her sextuplets on Thursday. The family had a low-key day at home, swimming and enjoying time together. The children opened presents and ate cake, and according to their mom, they had a great day.
Kate wrote
a blog post on her website about this big birthday. It seems as though each year that passes, Kate realizes just how lucky she and her ex-husband, Jon, really are. They have eight happy, healthy, beautiful children. Not every parent is fortunate enough to have healthy multiples... nevermind two sets of healthy multiples.
As Leah, Hannah, Alexis, Collin, Aaden, and Joel turn 8, fans of Kate Gosselin and her former reality show think back to where it all began—seeing the footage of Kate in the hospital and of the babies once they were born. However, those memories don't hit anyone harder than they do Kate and Jon. It was such an amazing yet difficult time for them, but they made it through. They now have eight (including twins, Cara and Mady) wonderful faces to be proud of each and every day.

I found it disconcerting that the twins gave the girls hand-me-down doll clothes for their birthday gifts.
Didn't Kate just write a blog about how she negotiates pay for chores with the twins? Didn't she mention that Cara was saving up for a Kindle Fire?
Apparently, she is raising the twins to be as selfish as she is.
Kate's motto: spend on yourself first, and chintz on everyone else. Even your own family members.
I think it's cool Cara is saving for a Kindle fire, but wonder how much Kate will allow her to actually use it? She is so controlling of their lives and what they watch, see, read, eat, etc. I doubt "Cara will have any freedom to use the Kindle as she would like to.
She probably mentioned it, too - in order to get a freebie for Cara. LOL.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Kindle was a fishing expedition - toss out a line and some bait and see who bites.
2. These are the words Kreider uses to reminisce: boredom, worry and discomfort, pain, unrest, struggle, burned, havoc, give up.
I'm sure those fond memories will give the kids the warm fuzzies when they get older.
Her fond memories didn't mention Jon's contribution to her pregnancy and delivery. Who took care of the twins when she was in the hospital? Jon. Who made her lunch everyday? Jon. (There is a famous story about how Jon was at work one day, and Kate raged into his workplace, scolding him for not leaving her a lunch.)
She acts like she was a single parent when she was pregnant and giving birth.
I had a difficult pregnancy at 40. I developed pneumonia. I coughed so hard that I cracked a rib. I could not take medication for it. I could go on and on, like Kate did, but I won't. Most ALL mothers have a story to tell. Throughout the passage of time, mothers have had stories to tell.
Guess what, Kate? We all feel our situations were unique and special. Yet you feel the need to be most "special-ist" (to use a Kate-ism) of us all.
