Kate Middleton has managed to keep one of her activities a complete secret, until now. The Duchess of Cambridge has been sneaking off and attending monthly meetings with the Scouts group at her current home in North Wales. The group was fortunate to have Kate pick it as one of her interests earlier this year.
A source let the cat out of the bag and explains, "She's been doing it all below radar because this was something she wanted to do in her own time, without fanfare." Kate knows anywhere she goes, it will turn into a media frenzy. Photographers will be busy photographing her every nuance, and she would be unable to relax and enjoy herself with the group.
Despite her best attempts to just be a normal volunteer, there was a great deal of excitement among those who got the chance to see her. However, like any other new toy, the newness factor wore off, and "she got stuck in straight away." Lucky for Princess Catherine, "Now it's no big deal. She's just a volunteer like anyone else." The Duchess strives to maintain a modicum of normalcy in her life and these precious 90 minutes every month allows her to just be her regular self.
The Kate Middleton effect has already been noticed by the group. Once Kate announced her intent to volunteer with the group, she sparked a trend and the number of people willing to donate their time.
