Justin Bieber and his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, are yet again dealing with a long-distance romance, as the starlet is in Bulgaria filming The Getaway with the Biebs back home in Hollywood—and doing much promotion for his new "Boyfriend" track, which was probably inspired by Gomez and the music video for which happens to feature a lovely brunette look-alike. And amid much speculation and gossipy rumors about whether Bieber was jetting out to pay a visit to his number-one girl, the "Baby" singer actually traveled a much shorter distance to support another gal. But who could be more important to Bieber than Gomez?!
Jelena fans: Have no fear. His special gesture was strictly professional, it seems. Justin Bieber, 18, attended 102.7 KIIS FM's Wango Tango on Saturday, May 12 to introduce up-and-coming singer Carly Rae Jepsen, 26, she of the hit "Call Me Maybe." Jepsen, a fellow Canadian, is kind of like Bieber's protegé; she's the first artist signed to his new record label, Schoolboy Records. So it's only natural that he's stepping up his support in whatever way he can.
Carly Rae Jepsen was in good company, too, at Wango Tango. Not only did she have an introduction that many emerging starlets could only dream of—Justin Bieber—she also joined a pretty hot list of performers for the nearly all-day concert, which was hosted at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. From The Wanted to Foster the People, Maroon 5 to Nicki Minaj, they were all on the roster! Jepsen fit right in, too, with her pop-star-worthy look that featured a rocker-chic leather skirt, platform sneakers and a sheer baby blue cape-like affair that she paired over a printed bodysuit.
As Just Jared reports, Bieber even tweeted more encouragement for his Jepsen after the show, saying, "@carlyraejepsen @TavishCrowe great seeing u guys!! #wangotango - glad I didn't get killed on that entrance. proud of u." Guess there's room for two girls in Bieber's life!
