A new YouTube video displays support for President Obama by Jay-Z for same-sex marriage. In a clearly thought out decision, the rapper and philanthropist cites opposing same-sex marriage is discrimination.
In a response that is common sense, Jay-Z states "What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. [It] is no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination plain and simple."
When asked his opinion by a CNN reporter on whether President Obama will lose votes based on his recent support of same-sex marriage, Jay-Z said it does not matter because he "did the right thing - the human thing". President Obama if the first standing President of the United States to take a pro stance on same-sex marriage.
Shawn Carter (a.k.a Jay-Z) may have become more compassionate in his ways and thinking since the birth of his daughter Blue Ivy with his wife Beyoncé. Jay-Z also went on to say that discriminating against same-sex marriage is just like discriminating against "blacks".
Whether opposition think President Obama did the right or wrong thing in declaring his support of same-sex marriage, Jay-Z agrees it is "the human thing to do". While Jay-Z has been a long time supporter of President Obama, there is no doubt that he understands what having equal rights is all about. Keep putting your public image to good use! Hearing Jay-Z for same-sex marriage is much more flattering than hearing offensive words that refer to women come out of his mouth! Bravo Mr. Carter!
