Miley Cyrus may have experienced skyrocketing success from a young age, especially with her Disney days as Hannah Montana. But that doesn't mean it was all pink ponies and rainbows for the entertainer. She still had her fair share of adolescent ups and downs—and even a huge boy-driven heartbreak (way before her current Liam Hemsworth love!). She revealed as much in a new interview.
She's made an often controversial impact in recent history, distancing herself from those more wholesome Hannah years with tattoos, questionable Twitter posts and pictures and a trail of skin-revealing ensembles, among other eyebrow-raising actions. Provocative she certainly can be!
But Miley Cyrus, 19, showed a softer and more accessible side of sorts when she sat down with Amanda de Cadanet for Lifetime's new series, The Conversation, as Celebuzz reports. Not only did she admit to "sweating the small stuff" when she was in her early teens, she also revealed some advice given to her by her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
"This too shall pass. It's not the end of the world... You've gotta keep going. It's something I tell myself; it's generic but it's true. It's a big something to remember," the singer-actress said. No doubt she's taken these words to heart on more than one occasion, especially when facing those not-so-complimentary tabloid reports.
But it may have been advice she should have heeded more strongly after her break-up with Nick Jonas, who she dated from June 2006 to early 2008, as Celebuzz confirms. "I had my biggest heartbreak when I was 14," Miley Cyrus admitted. (Talk about a young age for ultimate heartbreak!) "I was in love with somebody. I was in love with this person. I thought the rest of my life is ruined because he doesn't love me back. He doesn't think I'm pretty then I'm not pretty. He doesn't think I'm worth his time then I'm not."
Cyrus addresses some feelings that many girls obviously share when it comes to a split with a serious boyfriend. But, as she's also shown, love comes back around again. For her, it came in a hunky Australian actor package with her main man and The Hunger Games star, Liam Hemsworth.
