On Friday, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were rumored to have broken up after he tweeted, "thank you for the time i had with you but i have to move on now ..." The Biebs' reps denied he had tweeted that and called it a fake. But a new report claims Justin and Selena are really over!
According to MediaTakeOut, Selena broke up with Justin "after she heard RUMORS that he and pop SUPERSTAR Rihanna were getting very friendly - and Selena suspected that Justin was SMASHING!!!"
When have Justin and Rihanna had time to be "getting very friendly"? She's been traveling all over the world promoting Battleship, while he's been busy prepping his new album, Believe. So there's no way this happened recently, if at all.
But MTO also claims that Chris Brown has heard the Rihanna-Justin rumors too, "and THAT'S what promoted [writer's note: uh, does MTO mean 'prompted'?] him to BLAST Rihanna in that Theraflu remix," MTO claims.
Trying to prove that Selena and the Biebs are really dunzo, MTO claims that she quit following him on Twitter this weekend. MTO also points out that Justin attended the Billboard Awards this weekend without Selena and didn't thank her when he won.
MTO does have a point about award winners not thanking their significant others -- many times when that happens, the couple eventually splits (see: Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe, Sean Penn and Robin Wright, Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh). But Selena wasn't at the Billboards because she's in Bulgaria working on a movie. And Justin and Chris hung out together after the awards show, which they might not do if Breezy was upset about the Biebs boning his ex-girlfriend. MTO is not usually incredibly reliable, and this report has some serious holes in it, so it's probably safe to say Justin and Selena are still together.
