Singers Chris Brown and Rihanna are among the latest BET Awards 2012 nominees. The former romantic couple is nominated for several different awards. Meanwhile, hip hop power couple, Beyonce and Jay-Z, find themselves leading the list. The annual awards show is scheduled for July 1st on BET, hosted by actor Samuel L. Jackson.
According to BET's report today, Kanye West has the most nominations with seven, while Beyonce has six, and her husband Jay-Z has a total of five. All of Jay-Z's nominations are due to his work with Kanye West on "Watch The Throne," including their songs and videos for "N----a in Paris" and "Otis." Among the awards Beyonce is up for are Best Female R&B Artist, Best Video ("Countdown") and Best Collaboration for "Party" with J. Cole.
Chris Brown will be one of this year's performers, and hopefully he won't be lip-synching like he did at the Billboard Music Awards. Brown is also nominated for three awards this year including Best Male R&B Artist. Rihanna finds herself as one of Beyonce's competitors in the Best Female R&B Artist this year.
It should be interesting to see if Chris Brown and Rihanna both show up at the latest awards show. Could they possibly get people talking and do one of their collaborative songs on stage such as "Birthday Cake" remix, or will Breezy go at it solo? If the two end up sitting near one another in the audience, expect the dating on the down-low rumors to start flying!
