Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding was considered the wedding of the century despite people not knowing what future wedding will be like. It's really such a sweeping statement but whatever.
So, when it comes to Kate and Will's wedding, you would think every aspect was of it was planned by Buckingham's committee with the blessing of Queen Elizabeth. Surprisingly that wasn't the case with one of the most important aspects: the wedding guest list! Apparently, the Queen isn't as controlling as everyone thinks because she let Middleton and William decide who to invite on their own.
In a recent documentary interview for Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother, Will said, "There was very much a subdued moment when I was handed a list with 777 names on - not one person I knew or Catherine knew. I went to her and said, 'Listen, I've got this list, not one person I know - what do I do?' and she went, 'Get rid of it. Start from your friends and then we'll add those we need to in due course. It's your day.'"
And what a day it was. Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding brought tears to their fans. After a year, they are still wowing with their soft approach at celebrityhood. Fortunately, they have a great support system in place to keep them grounded.
