After a recent slip-up with her mandatory drug testing, Amber Portwood spent some time behind bars, but was given one more chance to have home confinement instead of jail. Even though Amber has been trying to get her life back on track, she continues to suffer set backs and many feel that she will never be able to adhere to the rules. Shockingly, Amber feels the same way!
According to TMZ, Amber was in court on Thursday and asked to be sent to prison! She admitted that she has not been able to stay clean, even while on the program. The reality show star even went as far as to request her original sentence of five years in prison rather than have to complete the drug program. Apparently, her lawyer was surprised by his clients shocking revelation.
Her brother, Shawn, has been vocal about the hit MTV show, placing a lot of the blame for Amber's troubles solely on the cameras. The last season of Teen Mom will air June 12 and MTV recently unveiled the girls individual trailers which are emotional (to say the least.) However, Amber Portwood's trailer is especially hard to watch as it shows her legal struggles, road to rehab, and an emotional scene where her daughter tells Amber she "needs her." While she is trying to get over the past, it can't help having to relive the heartbreaking moments.
It is obvious that having her life aired on television has had a negative impact on the Teen Mom's life, but now it looks like she is ready to take full responsibility for her actions. Admitting that she can't do the program seems crazy, but it seems to make sense to the reality show star.
She will be back in jail, waiting to find out if she receives her request. It is likely that she will be there for a few weeks.
