Jon Gosselin from DJ to Golfer, More Famous Than Kate Gosselin?

Jon Gosselin is really making the celebrity rounds. From serving as DJ at a middle school dance to playing golf in a charter school fundraiser, he's probably made more celebrity appearances in recent weeks than ex-wife Kate Gosselin has made.

According to a report from The Mercury, all kidding aside, Jon has taken on the role of small town celebrity and fans seem quite taken with his boyish charm. His reality TV claim to fame—Jon & Kate Plus 8—makes him the biggest celebrity the Renaissance Academy Charter School has on board right now, and they're happy to take what father of eight is willing to give.

Gosselin is both promoting and playing in the golf tournament that will raise funds for a new campus at the school. Sources say an anticipated $20,000 could be raised via the event to benefit the school.

Kate Gosselin recently appeared on The Today Show and admitted that things between her and Jon Gosselin are better. That would indeed be a blessing for the eight Gosselin children, who have lived lives somewhat wrought with discontent since their parent's breakup and the cancellation of their mom's reality show Kate Plus Eight.

Not a Kate fan May 25, 2012, 11:51pm UTC Kate and the kids share the same house, but that does not mean she is the more involved parent. The kids are gone all day at school. When they come home until they go to bed, Kate is on Twitter. What kind of mother puts tweeting above spending time with her children? Kate, that's who. The nannies are involved with the children, not Kate. When the kids are with John, he is involved with them. I suspect Jon is involved with them during the week, too, but Kate will never admit this. Jon's child support will always show up as being 'late' due to the set-up of the computer system. In my opinion, Jon should not have to pay any child support. Holly W. May 26, 2012, 12:15pm UTC Well said, Not A Fan. Just because a mother cooks dinner, does laundry and cleans between her oven doors does not make her an "involved" parent. When was the last time we heard about Kate volunteering at her kids' school or for their community??! I have to believe that if she did, she would be the first person to advertise it. Instead, she is usually galavanting around the country and training for marathons in her spare time. Both entirely self-serving. Msgoody needs to understand that with kids it's not always about quantity time. Kids benefit from QUALITY time, and that is exactly what Jon thankfully gives them that their mother does not. His volunteering is also setting an invaluable example for the kids - an example that can't even compare to Kate's example of grifting for freebies. BTW, did anyone else find it hysterically funny that while Kate was grifting for freebies from Keurig - she was spelling the name wrong? LOL! She kept sending tweets to Kuerig, until Msgoody set her straight.
