Alex McCord and her husband Simon van Kempen made it known that they do everything together during their stint on Real Housewives of New York, often to the dismay of their co-stars. The dynamic of their relationship seemed to be off-beat to many, but it works for them. The couple have two sons, Johann and Francois, and are preparing to celebrate their twelve-year wedding anniversary.
Looking back, McCord is revealing some juicy details to Rumorfix about their relationship, which started on a dating website, and what makes it work.
"He was never going to get married again and I was never going to get married at all." However, things quickly changed and as McCord says, "we turned each others world's upside down."
"One of the things I love about Simon is that we've grown and changed—we've grown together not apart. And, we never take each other for granted." Viewers of RHONY saw this couple together noticeably more than the other couple featured on this reality show—and other reality shows. In fact, reality shows often tear couples apart, but not this couple.
Alex McCord also dished on her secret to a successful marriage saying, "you need to be partners and you need to make yourself open to that person."
