Kate Middleton will soon be the wife of a Knight of the Thistle. Don't worry; she's not divorcing Prince William. Rather, Prince William will have the new title bestowed on him by Queen Elizabeth for his 30th birthday next month.
According to the Mail Online, Queen Elizabeth personally appointed her grandson to the Order in recognition of his good deeds and contributions to public life. The full title that he'll have is Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle. It's the highest honor that anyone can receive from the Queen in Scotland and is second only to the Order of the Garter in the United Kingdom, which Prince William is already a member of.
This means that very soon, royal fans will likely get to see Prince William and Kate Middleton in all their finery for his inauguration into the Order. When she, along with Prince Harry, watched his inauguration into the Order of the Garter in 2008 at Windsor Castle, she wore a somber black dress suit and hat. In 2011's Order of the Garter Service, the Duchess of Cambridge lightened things up by wearing a blue-grey dress with a matching coat. Similarly colored pumps and an elaborate headpiece perfected her look.
With many women clamoring to dress just like her, whatever she wears to the upcoming ceremony will most likely sell out very soon after the first photos get released.
