Will Olympic athlete Misty May-Treanor be a part of "Dancing With the Stars" season 15? If she has her way, the former "DWTS" competitor will be back on the show for another shot at the infamous Mirror Ball trophy!
According to Yahoo! News, the two-time Olympic gold medalist for beach volleyball will be a part of the 2012 Summer Olympic games in London. While that's confirmed, her spot on the All-Star roster for the next season of "Dancing With the Stars" is not. However, she would love to be back there, as she asked her Facebook page fans to vote for her to be back on the show. Misty posted:
"I would love to finish what I wasn't able to when I was on the show the last time."
Misty was on the 2008 season but was forced to bow out early after tearing her Achilles tendon, during the rehearsals. It was clearly an emotionally-tough moment for the athlete, as she has seen many other athletes win the show. That includes this year's winner, Donald Driver, and former winner, Kristi Yamaguchi, a fellow Olympic athlete. For those who want to vote on their favorite stars from past shows, the ABC site is currently asking for who everyone wants to see back on the dancefloor.
It makes plenty of sense that some of those contestants who were injured during previous runs on "DWTS" would want to get back out there and compete again. Of course this time, they'd want to make sure they stayed injury-free. There's probably other celebs who want to get on there just to get their names relevant and in the spotlight again too. For Misty May-Treanor it seems like the former, as she is likely very competitive. So hopefully her fans will support her enough to help get her voted back on for another chance at that trophy!
