American Idol Phillip Phillips did not undergo kidney surgery Tuesday as scheduled. It was postponed because of a raging fever brought on by a sinus infection.
According to a report from TMZ, Phillips was scheduled to have surgery that would restructure his severely damaged right kidney. This should help a chronic kidney stone cond
ition the singer has and alleviate the unrelenting pain he has endured as a result of it.
Phillip suffered constant pain during his run for the American Idol crown. Doctors begged him to give up the competition and have surgery but he refused.
This will be the ninth surgery for Phillip Phillips, who now will reportedly be rescheduled for his operation some time next week.
Can you imagine how disappointed Phillip Phillips, his family and his doctors must be that this surgery had to be postponed? Surgeries can't take place when patients have fevers because fever indicates the presence of an infection. It's always better to play it safe. Hopefully Phillip feels better and can go ahead with his much needed surgery next week as planned.
