Basketball Wives may not be getting positive attention, but Basketball Wives: LA only had one season, where the drama and bottle-throwing was less intense than the women in Miami. For one, Gloria Govan moved her family from Miami to Los Angeles so her husband Matt Barnes could play for a new team, but her move prompted a new spin-off. Since she was so disliked by the majority of the original cast, the producers thought they could follow her to Los Angeles, where she would be the focus of the new cast. Her sister, Laura Govan, was on the show as well, but she was quickly the bad girl because of her supposed affairs with various men.
Well, Laura and the other women are busy filming the second season of Basketball Wives: LA, but she claims that the first season made her look bad —like a bully. Sure, she may not be a mean as Tami Roman, but she surely isn't happy with the way she was portrayed. She believes there is a big difference between how she is in 'real life' and how she was portrayed on the show.
"I felt like I needed an outlet to voice my opinions and show people who I really am and not who these women tried to create me to be," Laura told Edge Magazine recently. "I'm a very nice person, and the only time I have problems is when someone takes my kindness for weakness." She continues to explain that she is actually a very domestic woman, who cooks for her children and fiancé every night, and not the bully who was showed on Basketball Wives: LA.
Did you think Laura was portrayed badly on the show or did the drama with 'wacky Jackie' take over the season?
