Sonja Morgan is known as the sexy, single cougar of Real Housewives of New York who often reminds fans of Samantha of Sex and The City. She's classy, fun, and flirty, and instantly became a fan favorite when she joined the cast in season 3. What fans don't know is that she was asked to join the show right from the start but turned the position down!
"Reality TV was first starting out," she tells Lifestyle Mirror. "I didn't know if it was going to be a cross between Jerry Springer and Desperate Housewives."
However, shortly after splitting from her husband and not receiving alimony, she had a change of heart. "I knew at that point that my divorce settlement wasn't coming," Morgan says. "I needed to support myself and my daughter in our townhouse," she says of the $6 million home on the Upper East Side which is often seen of RHONY. "I never imagined being a single mom. Never. But you're a mother, you do what you have to do, and the kids come first."
