Kim Kardashian and Kanye West probably could not be more of an opposite couple than the reality TV show star's earlier, short-lived relationship with Kris Humphries, which ended in divorce a mere 72 days after an over-the-top wedding to-do. The Humph is a towering basketball pro, a few years younger than Kardashian and, frankly, not hardly as famous. And, West, well he's a rapper and high-profile entertainer, he's a few years older than K.K. and is definitely more on her level—both height-wise and on the fame scale. West is also apparently seeing eye to eye with the Kardashian-Jenner clan and winning them over. And, momager Kris Jenner reportedly likes him way better than Humphries—but that may not be too surprising, as the NBA player was rather light on fans among this Keeping up with the Kardashians fam.
Khloe Kardashian Odom may have not liked Kris Humphries one bit and was one of the most vocal naysayers of his relationship with her sister, but even she apparently is supportive of the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West romance. And despite earlier reports that Mrs. Jenner was having a power struggle with West, fueled by him being too controlling over her daughter and leaving her out of the picture, this momager apparently has warmed up to him, too.
"Kris and Kanye have become really close. She is low-key putting her mom moves on him and grilling him to ensure he's the right guy for Kim," said a source, as Hollywood Life reports.
Hmmm... wonder if Jenner put those same "mom moves" on Humphries?! He obviously proved to not be the right fit at all for Kim Kardashian, so was her "mom-tuition" off?
Another insider actually speaks to this issue, saying that Kris Jenner really didn't grill or question Kris Humphries much at all, "more than likely because [she] didn't like Humphries as much as she likes Kanye."
It's an interesting perspective, indeed, as one might think Kardashian's mama would have been super-concerned about someone she didn't like, with whom her daughter was about to walk down the aisle!
But maybe Jenner really sees Kimye as having a long future and romance together—perhaps like the equivalent of a successful and long-running reality show series—rather than the commercial break that was Kardashian and Humphries.
