Kate Middleton's inexpensive wardrobe has pleased most of her loyal followers, but there are some who think she should splurge a little more on high-end fashion. Catherine manages to look like a princess, without busting her bank account. Who ever said a lady had to spend thousands of dollars on dresses that would only be worn once? It is a ridiculous, arrogant practice that Kate is choosing not to follow. In fact, Kate's wardrobe is rather cheap compared to other Royals.
The Discount Duchess chooses to wear clothes from stores that sell affordable clothing. She has put together a pretty fantastic wardrobe by shopping sales and wearing pieces from years past. Is there really a shelf life on a dress?
Kate is not only trying to protect her own finances, but those of her admirers. According to a friend of Kate's, "She feels she has a responsibility towards them." The moment Kate is photographed in an outfit, it becomes a hit with people rushing to the stores and buying out the exact style of any given item.
Catherine chooses to wear clothes that will not break a person's bank account or max their credit cards trying to copy her look. The friend adds, "That's one of the reasons why she buys so many of her clothes in chain stores such as Warehouse, Hobbs, Reiss and Zara."
While Kate Middleton is often compared to Princess Diana due to their trend-setting style, their budgets could not be more different. "Diana tended to wear haute couture clothes that people couldn't afford," explains the source. Kate has made it affordable for her followers to wear the exact same style and brand she wears. Her conscientiousness to the financial difficulties of the world has helped cement her status as one of the favorite Royals.
