Alexander Skarsgard, who portrays Eric Northman on HBO's True Blood, is a new potential Christian Grey for the movie adaptation of the bondage and discipline novel Fifty Shades of Grey. Although the movie deal hasn't even been signed and the actual casting is some time away, Skarsgard seems like a perfect fit.
First, how did Alexander become a nominee to play Christian Grey in the movie? Well, Bret Easton Ellis, the scriptwriter for American Psycho, is actively pursuing the honor of adapting E.L. James' bestselling book for the big screen. It's Ellis who thinks Skarsgard is perfect for the role, and he also thinks David Cronenberg should be the director. "Cronenberg and Alexander Skarsgard is a no-brainer. I've seen Alexander naked so many times at the gym that we both attend: perfect casting."
Skarsgard fans, after dealing with jealousy of Ellis seeing the actor naked on a regular basis, likely agree. After all, the role of Christian Grey isn't that much of a departure from his role as Eric Northman. He would just have to lose the fangs. It's evident Alexander has no problem with nudity and can exude a dominant personality with finesse.
