After all the drama and back and forth between Karan Johar and Priyanka Chopra this year it finally seems like the two are ready to be friends.
Karan was recently asked about the problems he's had with Priyanka and had this to say about the situation:
I have always had a wonderful and warm relation with Priyanka. Actually, I can't keep grudges against anyone for long. When you are fond of people, you tend to deviate from that path. Perhaps both of us did.
Being the older one, I invited her for my birthday party and was touched by her gesture. Without going back to what happened, I would say the relationship is back on track.
Except of course it was actually Farhan Akhtar who helped get Priyanka back into Karan's good graces by bringing the two together--a point which Karan glosses over a bit in his explanation.
Karan also said in another interview that he would cast Priyanka Chopra in any film he was doing, which is a complete turn around from his earlier claim that she would never work in another production of his for as long as he lived.
The two had a major falling out after the release of Agneepath, due in part to Priyanka's relationship with Shahrukh Khan. Karan, of course, is very close to both Shahrukh and his wife Gauri Khan and was highly offended that Priyanka would have an affair with Shahrukh. He attacked Priyanka via Twitter, which led to PC being one of only people in the industry not to be invited to Karan's birthday bash (until Farhan stepped in and righted things).
So Karan's version of events may not be entirely accurate, but in the end it's the result that matters. Priyanka has burned some industry bridges but it's good to see her mending them now.
