In Pretty Little Liars season three, the four friends are finally understanding how to play the game on "Blood Is The New Black." Not only are they being more honest with each other, but they're better at putting all the pieces together. But that doesn't mean they're getting any closer to the truth of who killed Alison and Maya, or even who the other A is.
And the new A behind the texts is definitely deadlier. As if last week's "I play with body parts" wasn't creepy enough, now A has planted a bracelet made of teeth, that reads "dead girls can't smile," in Emily's purse, as if she needs anything else to worry about. More about that in a minute.
Byron's ex-lover Meredith (Amanda Schull) is back, and she's gunning for a job at Rosewood High. Her presence is even more suspicious when Aria discovers an earring in her locker, an earring she thought was Meredith's. Turns out she had destroyed her dad's office with Alison (Sasha Pieterse) back when she wasn't convinced her dad had ended it with Meredith. Of course that was on the encouragement of Alison.
In present time, Aria gets a message from A, "Daddy needs to know. Or I let the other one go. To the police." That prompts her to come clean to her dad, and even apologize to Meredith. She even tries to give back the earring, but it's not even hers. So who does it belong to?
Garrett gets a lawyer
"Someone you know well has you completely fooled," Garrett (Yani Gelman) tells Spencer (Troian Bellisario) on another visit to the jail. But that's the last Spencer gets from the prisoner. Not only does Mrs. Hastings (Lesley Fera) tell her daughter to stop associating and talking to Garrett, but Spencer's mom becomes Garrett's lawyer. As such, Mrs. Hastings tells him to stop talking to everyone. So what caused Mrs. Hastings to have a change of heart?
Hanna and Mona talk
Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) isn't trusting Hanna (Ashley Benson), even after she comes clean about her visits to Mona (Janel Parrish). But she failed to tell him about Wren (Julian Morris). Naturally, he finds out, since he comes to the mental hospital with Hanna and waits in the hallway. But that lack of trust isn't the big Hanna storyline of the Pretty Little Liars night.
Rather, Hanna's attempts to get to Mona finally work. After a "beauty salon" session, Mona asks, "You're getting them again aren't you? The texts?" But then Mona clams up. Yet, expect Mona to become a chatterbox on the next episode, "King of the Blind." But can Hanna trust her? That's unlikely.
Emily remembers
Emily (Shay Mitchell) is struggling with make-up tests, but she knows the material. She's her own worst enemy, and even after some tutoring help from Ezra (Ian Harding), she doesn't finish her English test (but Ella [Holly Marie Coombs] finishes it for her). That's because Emily suddenly remembers: A girl was pulling back her hair in the car the night Alison's grave was robbed. And that girl driving the car? It was Jenna (Tammin Sursok). But she can't see, can she?
Jenna and the earring
When the four friends are huddled in the bathroom, they get their chance to test Jenna. They put out the mysterious earring on the counter and hide in the stalls. Sure enough, Jenna doesn't realize anyone is watching her, and she pulls down her sunglasses. Now the girls know she can see, and they're going to use this new info to help them find out the truth.
What did you think of Pretty Little Liars "Blood Is the New Black"? Do you think Jenna killed Alison, and maybe even Maya?
