Justin Bieber, his girlfriend Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, and a few of their famous friends launched Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" song when they made a lip syncing music video back in February. The song is now #1 on Billboard Hot 100 list, with Bieber's song "Boyfriend" at #10. Jepsen better be sending out the thank you cards!
Since the famous celebs made the video, the song has gained momentum. One YouTube member created a video mashup of the President of the United States, Barack Obama, making it appear as if he is singing the catch tune. Hilarious!
The video featuring Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Tisdale currently has over 42 million views on YouTube! The official "Call Me Maybe" video by Carly Rae Jepsen has close to 107 million views.
Also worth noting is the hilarious video Carly Rae Jepsen made with Jimmy Fallon, which currently has over 2.6 million views. In this version, Jepsen sings acoustically, while Fallon and The Roots play musical toddler toys and Fallen sings backup.
This song is taking over, and could easily become the most played song on the radio this summer. If you don't know it, you better learn it. If you don't like it, you better learn to love it, as according to the Huffington Post, it is the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Would the song be this huge if not for the Bieber, Gomez, Tisdale version? Probably not. Carly Rae Jepsen is one lucky girl!
