Once Upon A Time ended its first season with Rumpelstiltskin unleashing a fog across Storybrooke that brought magic to the town. He had this plan in motion for quite some time, but he will have more to contend with in season two when he goes up against Regina for what she has done.
In the season finale, Rumpelstiltskin, played by Robert Carlyle, found out that his love Belle, played by Emilie de Ravin, was indeed alive. Regina had locked her away in Storybrooke. Jefferson set her free and sent her to find Mr. Gold. When Emma broke the curse with true love's kiss, the young woman remembered who she was just before Rumpel unleashed the fog. He will definitely have to deal with Belle's being hidden away from him in season two.
Adam Horowitz said the following about what Rumpelstiltskin will do next when season two begins in the fall:
"So all his actions in the finale were part of something else going on. When he discovers that Belle is alive and that Regina had her locked away, that's a wrinkle in his plan and something that he must deal with in Season 2 while he also deals with whatever agenda he already has (hey, we're not gonna spill that just yet!)."
Rumpelstiltskin certainly has a few plans up his sleeve. No one expected him to unleash the magical fog in the human world in the season finale. He is definitely a character to watch as the series continues on. It will be nice to see more of him and Belle in season two of Once Upon A Time as well.
What do you think? How will Rumpel handle Regina for what she did to Belle?
