Jennifer Love Hewitt's mom, Patricia, has died from cancer complications at the age of 67. Patricia passed away on Tuesday, June 12th. She had been by her daughter's side throughout much of her career.
According to a report from On the Red Carpet, Hewitt's rep released a statement on her behalf on Wednesday.
"Her family mourns her loss," the rep says. "She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place. They ask for privacy at this difficult time
. No further details are being provided."
Never publicly acknowledging her mom's cancer, Hewitt has yet to make her own official statement regarding her passing.
Jennifer Love Hewitt once said in an interview that her mother found her role as a prostitute in The Client List (the season finale will air on Lifetime on Sunday) hilarious.
"She was like, 'So let's review ... For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs. Earlier this year, you wrote about your hoo haw in a book. Now you're playing a crack ho on TV,'" Hewitt said. "She was like, 'Do you think maybe you could do an animated movie next?'"
Hewitt's mom followed her to Hollywood in the 1980s as she worked to make her way in the acting world. Condolences are certainly in order for Jennifer Love Hewitt. May she finds peace in the time she spent together with her mom Patricia and in the memories they created together.
